Time and Time Again by BarBieBoy (R)
Fandom: GUNDAM WING
Pairing: Heero/Duo (1+2), side Quatre/Trowa (3+4)
Author on LJ: N/A
Author Website: N/A
Why this must be read: I'm trying to rec a lighter fic than my last one, and I think I'm failing. This story is from years ago. It was added at Gundam Wing Addiction (one of the largest fanfiction archives) in 2001. But despite it being a bit outdated, I love this fanfic. It has a few fanon clichés (Duo's a little more hyper, for some reason the boys are all attending the same school undercover), but the story is good enough that it can pull through them. I guess you might call it a classic. The plot may seem a bit similar to a certain movie, but that's only surface level.
The reason that this became such a great story, is that you can see the characters change. Too many stories feature characters that, for better or worse, remain static throughout the entire plot. In this one, which is more or less told from Heero's perspective, you can see him grow because of the situations he finds himself in. That kind of character development is always worth a read.
