Why this must be read: Lanning is able to capture in just a few pages all the emotion, passion and underlying strife between Duncan and Methos.
In this story, Methos is afraid of what their relationship means, Duncan is not. Beautifully crafted, evocative and yes, both men are completely in character; this gem is sometimes overshadowed by Lanning's other Highlander story, Sacred Trust. However, I feel it deserves its own time in the light.
