Unbecoming by Cinnamon (NC-17)

Here’s what I wanted to rec before I got distracted by shiny Harry/Draco/Ron:

Fandom: Harry Potter
Pairing: Ron/Draco
Author on LJ: [livejournal.com profile] starflowers, I think
Author website: Cinnamon on Schnoogle
Why this must be read:

Wow, Cinnamon hasn’t been recced here before? She writes the most amazing Harry/Draco stories, most of which don’t have a happy ending. However, Unbecoming is my favourite of hers and probably my favourite Ron/Draco – it had me hooked from the very first

It was a dark and stormy night; Ron had always loathed stories that started that way, they never ended well. Still, he could remember many nights at home as a little boy, sitting on the floor by the hearth in the Burrow, Ginny beside him trying to restrain her giggles, Percy standing, more dignified, against the wall, as their father launched into a bedtime story that always began that way.

“It was a dark and stormy night and there didn’t seem to be a single other person alive in the world…”

“It was a dark and stormy night and people everywhere were rushing home to be with their families…”

“It was a dark and stormy night, the kind of night that makes the lonely feel more alone, the cold feel colder…”

All of which were possible beginnings for this story as well.:

Ron has deteriorated after leaving Hogwarts, with no real job and lots of alcohol he spends his days alone in his little house. Until Ginny is in danger, and moves in with him – with her bodyguard, the one and only …drumroll… Draco Malfoy! Malfoy Jr. doesn’t only threaten Ron’s heterosexuality, but his whole empty life – yet in the end, it’s Ron who can teach Draco a thing or two. (In case you can’t tell from my summary, the story does not only have a clever plot (no, really!), but is also very funny!)
