Trade by hackthis (NC-17)

Again, I meant to post a different rec today, but in lieu of the events in London today, I’m changing my order round a bit to give you this story. It's about the city of London just as much as it is about the characters, a fact that made me love it so much in the first place.

Why this must be read:

Trade is an AU set in present day London, most notably Kensington, Camden and the Finchley Road area that was my home for a year – I could literally see Draco going shopping at the Finchley Road Waitrose, and recognised many other places around that area! It is a brilliant story, from the characters, who totally work in a non-magic setting (Draco, as the head of Malfoy Escorts, Ltd, Blaise as his second in command and Harry as an accountant. No, really! It works. It works so well in fact, that most of the canon characters show up in the story in different roles that you could actually see them having, was there not a world of magic) to the plot, which is fast-paced and fun.
Hackthis is such an institution in the HP fandom, I'm sure she's been recced here before, but I can't access the memories right now. All her stories are clever and original, but Trade is my favourite of hers - and that only because of its setting, that's how brilliant all of her stories are.
(This is also kind of a cross-over – I’m not gonna say with what, as it is fairly minor, and it also worked for me, having never seen the series in question.)
