Why this must be read:
Blake manages to rescue Avon just in the nick of time--after Avon has been injected with fast-penta truth serum, but before he gets to tell Servalan anything. Nova!Blake is typically warmhearted and generous, and here he's too much of a gentleman to take advantage of Avon's drug-induced garrulity to find out how Avon really feels about him. Blake has *himself* injected with fast-penta so he can tell Avon that he loves him, and there's lots of big but not soppy emotion--bel canto, delivered from the heart, and plenty of detailed descriptions of sweet, enthusiastic lovemaking. (Definitely lovemaking and not raw sex, although Nova doesn't believe in cutting to the fireplace.)
