Why this must be read:

I don't like RPS, generally. Intruding in real persons' lives isn't my idea of fun. BUT this... is so well written, so nostalgic and subtle and it rings so true... It's barely RPS, almost something like a twisted AR. I can't explain, really. Maybe it's the writing (wonderful) or the bittersweet tone or, to me, the perfect catch on the... characters/actors (and yes, I know GT was already married at the time but who cares?) or the fact that it shows what I always wanted so hard to believe in... I don't know.

The way the smile that Avon uses like a weapon comes so easily to Paul, the way he laughs when he makes a mistake, or mutters vulgarities to make Gareth laugh in his lovely, drama school English. The way he says, ‘Fuck’. His mouth. The way he half sneaks, half flounces out between takes for a cigarette, the sound he makes in the back of his throat with the first drag, his eyes fluttering blissfully shut.
Mwah, I love this so *much*!
Go, read it. There's nothing shocking in it; there's a lot to be liked about it.
