Why this must be read: Occasionally one can stumble upon a real gem over at fanfiction.net, and this story is evidence of this. Set after the events of Draft Day, the staff tries to deal with the repercussions of all that Dan is going through. It’s darker than most Sports Night fic out there, but it still brings the banter and manages to be true to the characters.
“What are you doing?” Natalie asked.
“What?”
“What are you doing with your mouth?”
“I’m...smiling.”
Natalie gave him another once-over. “It needs work.” She sat down on one of the chairs. “Jeremy has this way he deals with things, in situations like this. You can’t change what happened in the studio, so focus on the now, now...”
“And the before, later. And the later, later still. He explained it to me.”
