Why this must be read: I love a good fantasy AU, and this definitely fits the bill. Two young men from feuding families meet at a party, and things go downhill from there. The setting is well-crafted and intriguing, and the interaction between Justin and Nick is very good indeed.
He'd never met any of the Nishakado Family, but he'd seen images of each of them. Kevin was very big on knowing their enemies. This man was a Nishakado; of that, he had no doubt. If his head wasn't still throbbing, he probably could have named him immediately. As it was, it took him a good five minutes of staring to place the light brown curls and thin, almost beautiful face.
"Justin!" It burst out of him as he remembered. Justin, the youngest, rumored to have bedded at least one person in every Facet world between Baareshe Node and Nishakado Node.
"Lemmee 'lone," Justin muttered, frowning as he threw his arm over his eyes. "Sleepin'."
Wonderful. Nick had woken up with the Lattice's biggest slut, a headache that suggested he'd drunk way too much the night before, and absolutely no memory of how he'd gotten there.
He had a very strong feeling that he was going to throw up. Preferably on Justin.
Justin, Aaron-not-appearing-in-this-story Carter and Nick.
