Why this must be read:
This is a lovely short piece where Estel tries to understand death with Elrond's help. It's easy to see, through Elrond's action, words and thoughts, the bond between him and Estel, and he comes up with good ways of explaining death to little Aragorn.
What I really liked were the little descriptions of Estel's actions, which tell you exactly what's going on in his head (well, as much as you can from a nine year old boy), as well as the one's Avon gives of Rivendell, which make it seem so pretty and so alive.
