Why this must be read:
There is a whole subgenre of Sentinel fiction out there that takes place after the series finale, after Blair is offered a detective’s badge. Stories in this subgenre basically go two ways: Blair becomes a cop, or Blair finds some other way to continue to be Jim’s partner. This is one of my favorite Blair-as-cop stories.
It’s a lovely, gentle look at the day their relationship finally turned the corner from best friends to lovers. Destina has a great ear for dialogue, too – the banter between them is funny and very true to character.
