Why this must be read: Set during The Siege (Part 1), this is one way the season could have ended. A "behind the scenes" type look at the episode, the best thing about this story is its characterisation of Weir and how what we see on the surface, is not nearly the same as what she's thinking and feeling underneath.
Her face is different for everyone else. For Teyla. For Rodney. For Aiden, who keeps running up to her with a new stragedy, some master plan that the scientists keeping shaking their heads and saying, there just isn't enough power. She tells them to never give up, that they didn't come all this way, save the city so many times before to be defeated. She makes speeches, she's good at that. Elizabeth curses her diplomatic training, the way it makes idealism too easy to fake.
