Why this must be read:
The Jenny Code was rec in March but from that story we still get wonderful little insights of life before The Jenny Code. I have to confess I have a huge, and I mean, a huge crush on the universemiss_porcupine created. We follow Lorne's team thru the gate, thru training, thru the most amazing bad luck (those poor, poor Lieutenants). Her OC are not just OC, they are fleshed out characters that you come to came about or develop a huge crush on. Going so far as "casting" some of them. The Care and Feeding of a CO is set in the post Conversion, post Aurora time line. sga_flashfic. It's a John and Atlantis love affair with a twist.
Do check out the other little tidbits of the universe, it's expanding slowly. I just love it to pieces. The dialogs, the one liners, Lorne (so much love for her Lorne), John is in character and even, maybe a little more than what we see on the screen, don't get me started on Yoni Safir.

"Aren't we waiting for the Colonel?" Suarez asked, digging through the box of spare clips for his P-90.
"The Colonel doesn't take more time getting dressed than a teenaged girl," Yoni Safir answered, clearly irritated.
"I what like a teenaged girl?" Sheppard asked, strolling in to the armory with a relaxed expression and an unzipped tac vest.
"Squeal," Safir replied easily. "Like a thirteen-year-old at an Enrique Iglesias concert."
"Only when properly motivated," Sheppard said as he went to the locker where he kept his gear.
