This is Agamemnon by Vanzetti (G)
Wow, I can't believe it's June already! Howdy, y'all. I'm Maidenjedi, and I'll be your X-Files driver for June. What you'll quickly notice - I like minor characters, especially the women, and mostly het or gen. My tastes are otherwise all over the map. With that said, on to the rec!
Fandom: X-FILES

Why this must be read: Simply put, "This is Agamemnon" is a take on the Mulders' choice to sacrifice Samantha to the colonists. I think the most underused dynamic in fanfiction, and even on the show itself, was that of Teena and Bill. Vanzetti put together this vignette based on Aeschylus' Agamemnon, who was, if you'll recall from the depths of your education, a key figure in The Iliad. Aeschylus' story is about what happens to Agamemnon upon his return from Troy, which he was able to do because he sacrificed his daughter Iphigenia. His wife, Clytemnestra, schemes to have him killed for this. Here, Bill Mulder is Agamemnon, and Teena's Clytemnestra is plotting.
Elegant and sharp, and a perfect take on the show's lynchpin character.
