Salvage by Meg (PG-13)
Fandom: STARGATE: SG-1
Pairing: Sam/Daniel
Author Website: Paper-Hearted
Why this must be read:
My philosophy is, if you're going to 'ship a story, there had better be porn in it somewhere, the hotter, the better. So why do I like this story so much, when there's hardly a mention of sex? The writing. Meg does a fantastic job of capturing the pain and awkwardness of the team boxing up Daniel's things after he ascends, subtly shifting through grief and anger as Sam tries to come to terms with losing Daniel.
Bastards. Just throwing him away like that.
I can't stay any longer and I retreat to the living room, sit on his couch and stare at a blank wall that has visible squares where pictures used to be.
He had this place so nice.
"This has been really hard on her, T," says Colonel O'Neill, softly, as if I'm so out of character I need to be explained. Like Elvis. Like why humans believe putting your hand on the bible will make you tell the truth.
