Why this must be read: This fic is kind of a post-season 2 wrap-up, serving to give closure on individual character arcs. It all starts when Veronica buys a CD for Keith's birthday that summer, and instead the songs serve as a soundtrack for that summer. Each character is served very well by the songs, and it answers that friggin' cliffhanger question about what was in Kendall's briefcase, which I love.
Excerpt:
Veronica never meant to keep the CD in her car all summer. She found it for .50 at a yard sale the third week of summer, and she couldn’t resist. The faded cover shouted: The Greatest Hits of 1966! When she flipped it over, she recognized about half of the songs. The other half caused Mac to ask, her tone wry, “Are those even real songs?”
