No Going Back by Two Ladies of Quality (R)
Fandom: BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER
Pairing: Giles/Ethan
Author on LJ:
riani1
Author Website: Two Ladies of Quality
Why this must be read:
You'll want to start with "Reflections in a Turning Mirror" so that you know why Rupert and Ethan are working together during the fight against the First Evil. I like these stories because of the feeling of deep attachment and shared history between Giles and Ethan. (Those afraid of old-guy slash, fear not: there's nothing graphic. The R rating is for violence.) Besides, Giles/Ethan is practically canon in my eyes, and I like a story that makes me think they could have a future together even after all the strife between them. (Minor nitpick for "No Going Back": I have a complaint about Giles' use of "geisha" early in that story to refer to attendants in a "sleazy bath house," a mistake that a fluent speaker of Japanese wouldn't make.)
Afterwards Series:
Reflections in a Turning Mirror
No Going Back
The rest of the series may be found here: http://www.twoladiesofquality.com/aftermain.html
("Sing Thee To Thy Rest" and "From Hell's Heart I Spit At Thee" are Angel stories, although Xander appears in the first and Spike in the second. "Afterwards" is a BtVS story with implied Angel/Spike and nongraphic Spike/Xander, along with Giles/Ethan and Willow/Kennedy. There's also some Mean!Kennedy in the last part; be warned.)
