Why this must be read: This girl is able to write something with an ending you don't want, but still make you love her. I think my favorite part of this whole piece is the opening paragraph, because the writing is so dead-on it made me think of Capote. Even though it's short, it reads like literature, which is something not easily found in this fandom.
Up the rickity stairs to the third floor (because the elevator’s broken) and the second door on the left. He knocks three times impatiently, struggling with the box, though it is light. A cat passes by his leg despite the graffitied sign saying there are no pets allowed in the building. Freddy realizes with slight satisfaction that their old apartment building was better than this.
Zack opens the door when Freddy is not paying attention.
