Chill Wind by Cinel Durant (PG)
Fandom: Highlander
Pairing: Duncan/Methos (warning: character death)
Author on LJ:
junoesk
Author website: Cinel's Snuggery
Why this must be read:
Cinel is a true wordsmith, someone who chooses each word, each phrase, working and reworking them until more meaning and subtext and emotional punch is packed into a smaller space than almost any prose writer I know. This particular story is a dangerous recommendation, I know, but sometimes the pain is so beautifully expressed that it almost feels good and is unquestionably cathartic. This story was written for the incredible "A New POV" zine, in which the wonderful artist "X" did her unique magic on creating images from a lot of different fandoms. Several writers who specialized in that fandom were asked to write short pieces from the point of view - not of any canon character - but of a bystander. This is Cinel's entry.

NOTE: My link to "X"'s website isn't working. If anyone knows it, please let me know and I'll edit this entry.
