Why this must be read: Saul Tigh's the dour, unappealing second-in-command on Galactica, at least in the conventional viewpoint. Soured by years of disappointment, addicted to alcohol and saddled with a wife who's an embarrassment when she's having a good day, you wouldn't think that he had anything to celebrate, ever! Butilanabean42 gives a good case for Tigh having a hope of redemption in this short, early season one story: you see a man taking a sober (hah!) second look at his life when he's faced with the unlikely prospect of a second chance.
