The Lorax by mousewitchy (PG)
Fandom: STARGATE SG1
Pairing: Gen with hints of Cam/Teal'c
Author on LJ:
mousewitchy
Author Website: Fic in memories
Why this must be read:
Because although there's a Cameron focus, it does hit all the teamy buttons and all their voices. Because SG1 takes the oddest of things in their stride. And even so it's a little much that the fic starts as Cameron Mitchell steps out of a tree naked, slightly green and oh, a plant.
And from that you would expect a little wacky story, and it is, but as the fic winds through the characters' responses there's an underlying connectedness, history and harmony as Cameron reaches for the sunlight.
He looked a little green all over, actually. Sam wished he’d quit doing that.
“Different.” He motioned nebulously toward himself. “But good. I think. Listen,” he said, head cocked as if he could hear something the rest of them couldn’t. “I’ve got news.”
“News,” Daniel said dubiously. He was moving very slowly towards pod-person-Cam (Cam was a pod-person now, Sam thought, and didn’t that just figure? They’d never hear the end of it next time Jack came to town) with an extra set of BDUs he’d dug out of his pack. “What happened?” He touched Cam’s shoulder gingerly, then pulled back, rubbing sticky fingers together thoughtfully. “Is that sap?”
