Why this must be read:
Most of my recs this time have been lighter. Although I have a slight preference for fun stories in BtVS/AtS, I also like the darkness of the Buffyverse, so here's one that fits that profile. In this story, Giles challenges Angel to a saber fight, and their past makes it all too real. I needed this resolution for Giles regarding what Angelus did to him, and in a way I think Angel needed it, too; otherwise, he's ignoring a part of himself, and that could prove dangerous.
