Why this must be read:
This is one of my three Halloween recs, because this story is pure horror. It's probably the most fucked-up, creepy story I've ever read that was still well-written, even artful.
Billy's at the end of his rope, you can tell from the first few paragraphs how this tale is going to end. But as a reader, you can't stop watching the downward spiral.
