Dark Passage by Elizabeth Kent (NC-17)
Fandom: THE A-TEAM
Pairing: Face/Murdock, Face/OMC
Author on LJ: unknown
Author Website: Elizabeth Kent's Fics on the A-Slash Website
Why this must be read: Sometimes, especially on a chill winter's day, you want to settle in with something that will keep you occupied for hours. Many hours. Elizabeth Kent is an author that delivers over the long haul with tons of plot, character development, and emotional involvement. "Dark Passage" has Face and Murdock working undercover - a much more complicated and lengthy kind of job than they usually do - but it's for a good cause. It's the undercover-as-gay plot, but because the story unfolds slowly, as does the relationship, it's believable enough. We also get a lot of insight into Face's character - his issues with his attractiveness and sexuality - as Face's new boss decides to pursue him, with or without his consent. I also like Murdock in this - he's Face's friend, first and foremost, and that solid, dependableness comes through in both the dialogue and the physical interactions. Settle in for a long read, and don't worry if you want more after the first story. There's a sequel. Do read the warnings, though, as the stories deal in part with non-consensual sex.
"This is it," Hannibal assured him.
"Don't look like no place Face would ever live," said B.A. doubtfully.
"Face wouldn't live here if it were the last building on earth," said Hannibal cheerily. "But Rich Todd would because it's all he can afford."
From an open and unscreened third floor window, Murdock leaned halfway out to wave at the van before Face grabbed his belt and pulled him back.
"Idiot, you're gonna fall out the window!" Face exclaimed.
"Aw, Face," said Murdock, "I didn't know you cared so much."
"I haven't taken out insurance on you yet," said Face, "so don't go making me a widower already."

There's an equally long sequel available: Through a Glass Darkly
