Why this must be read:

I never rec untitled fic, and I rarely read it, but this is so brilliant that the lack must be overlooked. This is an amazing look at Broots and the people in his life: at the way he loves his daughter and the things he admires about Miss Parker. And it's about the things that people are willing to do for Broots because he's Broots.

It starts light-hearted but it ends serious and it's perfect Broots and brilliant Pretender.

If I were introducing a person to The Pretender for the first time, I would point them in this fic's direction and tell them to love Broots.

An Excerpt:

They walked past the bike rack, where Broots let Debbie slip out of his arms to unlock her bike and roll it along with them to the car. Purple metallic flake paint glittered like stars.

"Miss Parker?" Debbie said. She had her head down. Her shiny brown hair was fastened in a braid at the back of her head, tied off with a fluffy hair tie in bright orange. She was watching the sidewalk glide by under the bike wheels.

"Debbie?"

"I did what you told me to do. I kicked and screamed and I didn't let him put me in the car. No matter what, I didn't let him put me in the car."

Broots stopped walking. Debbie continued wheeling the bike on for a few steps before she stopped and looked back, puzzled. Broots' eyes met Miss Parker's.

"Girl talk," Parker explained.
