Fruit of the Vine, by Aristide (NC-17)
Fandom: THE SENTINEL
Pairing: Jim/Blair (slash)
Author Website: http://hos.slashcity.com/arslash.htm
Why this must be read:
Fruit of the Vine
One of the most intriguing themes in Sentinel erotic-fic is the consideration of what effect Jim's heightened senses would have on his sexual experiences. The various treatments of this range from the humorous to the scorchingly HOT, and Aristide deftly navigates the water between the two, adding just enough angst and introspection to give this story real resonance.
This story deals with Jim's senses in a unique and highly erotic manner, and the character development is superb -- this is a story in which you feel the emotions and the sexual tension, and the relief and satisfaction for the reader when the story reaches its climax (yes, pun intended) is simply luscious.
Aristide has a wonderfully descriptive style, and the dialog is fabulous as well. Plus, you'll definitely leave this story with a new appreciation for strawberries.
So, go read Fruit of the Vine, you know you want to; here's a taste to get you started:
"...you were just another partner to me, you know? A cop and a roommate, and I thought that I'd screwed things up for good, but then I figured out what I needed, and once I figured that out I was glad that I did what I did, because now I don't need a single, goddamn thing from you, except for you to love me."

It is entirely probable that I do, but for the life of me I cannot see it -- help? ;)

Mmmmmpph. I *adore* this story. It's one of those "you always remember where you were when you read it" stories. I was actually away from home, checking my mail on someone else's computer...
"Oh, a new, huge Aristide story. YAY! Wait, no!! Mustn't read porn on someone else's computer!" *thinks about it* "Well, maybe I'll just read the first part. That probably doesn't have any porn in it. I'll be able to wait for the rest of it till vacation is over..."
*a few hours later*
"....... Yeah. I'll delete this out of the cache as soon as my brain starts working again. Guh."

Hee! I laugh, because I can recall almost the same reaction... "Well, just a little won't hurt, I can stop at any time..."
They didn't decide to call this the "Crack Van" for nothing, eh? I think they KNEW how addictive these stories are, and now there's a chance to lure a whole, new bunch of fans... mwahahaha ;)
