This is one of those 'what if?' fics. Set firmly within the OW and within the timeframe of the pilot of the series, it diverts very early by saying – 'what if it wasn't Chris and Vin that saved Nathan from the lynch mob?'

This fic is a great turnaround. Ezra's character is wonderfully explored as the tale is told from his viewpoint. The reader is left trying to forget what they know about canon, and even the main characters as it's Ezra and his eyes that introduces them to you.
