Good Boy by Margo (NC-17)

Fandom: QUEER AS FOLK UK
Pairing: Nathan/Vince, Stuart/Vince
Author on LJ: N/A
Author Website: Margo's Archive @ Across The Pond
Why this must be read:

This is an interesting AU with the premise that Nathan ends up going home with Vince instead of Stuart on that first night. I like the idea of this concept. The author uses quotes from the actual series to good effect here. I also like that while the focus is on Nathan and Vince, the Stuart/Vince vibes are still there, right below the surface.

"Seatbelt on." Vince ordered, his own already done up, foot on the brake, the jeep ready to go. "Right then, I'm taking you home. Where exactly in Didsbury?"

"I can't go home. I can't. I'm supposed to be stayin' at Donna's, me mum and dad think I'm kipping at hers for the night. Cuz of the party yeah." Nathan returned Vince's searching glare with wide-eyed innocence, and kept on talking, not giving the man a chance to interrupt. "There was this party tonight, Nick's si . . . seventeenth birthday, his parents let him have the house to himself and everything. Can you imagine?"

Vince couldn't help but smile at the boy's enthusiasm over what was, for him, obviously an unimaginable thing for parents to do.

"I'm sitting there with Donna, that's my friend Donna, where I'm stayin', and I'm watching this boy, Christian Hobbs, he goes up to this girl, Anne-Marie. Two minutes, that's all it takes, then he's in there, snogging her, he's eating her. She's not even pretty. And I look around the party, they're all at it, they're all snogging. Couples. I'm just sitting there. No one's watching me. Everyone else, snogging away. And I decided I'd waited long enough. So I walked out. Stood up and walked out, on to Palantine Road, got the bus, Canal Street. That was hours ago, Vince."
