Fandom: THE MAGNIFICENT SEVEN
Pairing: no pairing, Chris, Vin
Author on lj: unknown
Author on website: Joan Curtin’s stories at Lady Angel

Why this must be read: I like this story because has a lovely plot, great descriptions and it plays with two subjects commonly used in fanon. Vin’s past as a sniper and Peso irritable nature (which the author both credits to Painted Eyes as portrayed in "For Faith"). The characterizations works very well and it shows the strength and the depth of Chris and Vin’s relationship.

There was nothing bright on him, even the stock of the rifle resting against his cheek was dust-dull, and the gunmetal grey barrel did not reflect the sunlight. His body was narrow and slightly built so that when hunkered down like he was, he was no higher than the dry grasses that fluttered a few feet away from him. He scarcely seemed to breathe..
