Why this must be read:

One thing I have always had much wish for on SG1 is seeing someone living the life of the SGC but having a spouse that doesn't. We know that every day in our respective militaries there are men and women who cannot tell their spouses anything of what they're doing day to day and they have to learn how to make a life with it. I had hoped that with Cameron Mitchell we might finally get that but, alas, no. Well, what the show doesn't give the fans do and the authors of this one did it with Cam beautifully. I love his wife, I love the life they have that's hinted here and this story does not get enough love and it should.
