Why this must be read: It's subtitled Five Times Dan Rydell Doesn't Cry, and doesn't that say it all? On the surface Dan appears to be bright, sharp, witty, clever, capable, strong and loving and, in fact, he is all of those things. But there's something inside of him that's broken, something that he's spent all his life hiding, and any time his mask slips our hearts go out to him. These five drabbles centre around Dan's brother, his father, Casey McCall, his boss, and an ending, and fans of the show will need no further explanation. And fans oflordessrenegade's writing will need no better reason.
"I'll be on Friday, at six," he said instead, and knew that his father wouldn't watch.
