Why this must be read:
This story hooked me, right from the summary: John's Dead. Rodney can save him. And indeed he is. Suddenly and definitively, in an offworld accident right at the beginning of the story. As the Atlantis command staff struggle to deal with their own grief, Rodney seeks outside help to bring John back. Leah neatly blends Torchwood and SGA/SG1 canon, pulling together a plausible solution that wouldn't work in either show alone. By telling the majority of the story from Elizabeth's point of view, she keeps the readers as in the dark about Rodney's plans as the rest of Atlantis is. It's a clever premise, with just the right level of angst to make the ending all the sweeter.
