Why this must be read:
A good look at the relationship between Nathan and Peter. Nathan knows how to manipulate any person and any situation to get what he wants, but with Peter there are always consequences. I liked the juxtaposition of the story childhood story to the present day. The whole thing works very well, and the sex is very hot.
Nathan went to the movies with his friends. That evening, while Nathan was gone, Peter crawled from one side of the rug to the other. Nathan spent the next day trying to get Peter to do it again. He waved Peter's favourite toy in front of him, stood on the other side of the rung and tried to entice Peter with a cookie. Peter stubbornly refused to do anything but lie on his stomach and watch Nathan with round eyes.
To this day, Nathan swore Peter knew when he was being used. It was like Peter wanted Nathan to know Peter didn’t mind, he would never mind, so long as Nathan understood there was a price to be paid.
