Why this must be read:
As the month draws to a close, I've been dithering with which fics to include--I could so rec more than 12, if we were allowed--but I've always known this one would make the cut.
Dooku's such an interesting character. He's powerful, he's compelling, he was Yoda's padawan and Qui-Gon Jinn's master, he was one of the greatest Jedi ever (and they don't count that by his battle record), and he left it all behind to become a Sith. We don't really see much of what makes him tick, just the smooth surface he presents to Obi-Wan on Geonosis. This is one look at pivotal moments in his history, both before and after he turned, and what might have been.
