What He Wants by Rhys (NC17)
Previously on Popslash: "Dude. No deep thoughts. I'm tired of those lately. You're okay, I'm okay. We're getting out of here on the first flight Lance can book, and we're going to invade Europe. I'll make tons of money, you'll learn deep werewolf secrets, and we'll be all together and cuddly and stuff. Life's good."

Why this must be read:
"You get fried by lightning, and you’re hungry?"
Movie AU's are a tricksy thing. They strive, usually, to do one of two things: either follow the movie to the letter, and putting Pop characters in there with some small characterization tweaks, or take the general plot and point of the movie and graft it onto the characters. "What He Wants" does the latter. It takes the basic idea from the movie "What Women Want" and puts the situation to Chris and Lance.
Technically speaking, you might not call this an AU. The guys still retain their pop lifestyle-Chris and Lance aren't ad execs, for example. But I think since it does do a one-eighty on something that would happen in real life, it counts. Plus, I'm the reccer, and I say it does, so there. :)
Honestly, telepathy is probably my biggest kink, particularly when it comes up between my OTP, Trickyfish (Chris/Lance), and with one of my favorite writers, Rhys. "What He Wants" is probably my favorite of her many works for that very reason, though she's a prolific and consistently excellent writer who's already been reccomended on
crack_van for her epic work, The Book of Secrets.
For more information on "What Women Want," you can, of course, go to your local video store and rent it for like a dollar, but IMDb has a page on the movie that gives you some pretty detailed information.
Main characters:

Chris is cast in the role Mel Gibson played, of the fellow thrust into someone else's mind. (Side note: isn't that a weird picture of Chris? It's the angle or something, because that looks nothing like him. Weird.)

Lance takes Helen Hunt's character, a determined, overachieving, rather neurotic businesswoman unable to hide anything from Chris/Mel.
Supporting cast:
The J's: JC, Joey, and Justin, the rest of NSync.
