Why this must be read: The basic story here is a familiar one in this fandom: one character pushes; the other pushes back and ups the stakes; the first character calls him on it. Problems follow.
The storytelling, however, is exceptional: Alexis Gunn’s writing always makes you want to keep reading forever and her funny stories (of which this is one) will have tears rolling down your face.
The Cursing Jar looks at how far you can take physical intimacy and still call it ‘friendship’. As we find out we get to see, among many other good things, a blow job under a desk in a not-empty bullpen and a scorchingly hot naked hose-down in William Ellison’s back yard.
Very funny and very hot, with a little angst thrown into the mix for leavening.
"I get the picture," said Blair, getting up and stomping off. He could still hear Jim's laughter behind him "Only a few more days, Ellison!" he called out behind him, and then he thought...I ought to get him back somehow. What could I do to turn the tables on Mr. Smug in there? What could I volunteer to do for him that he just would not want.... And then, despite himself, Blair thought he might have a horribly wonderful idea. Oh, yeah, he thought in triumph. The one thing that would make Jim Ellison cut this little game right short. And he started feverishly writing, chuckling at his own bravado and clever wit.
