Why this must be read:

Okay - this was kinda fast for me - I read it today, directed to it rather by accident, but it is wonderful. Like the recommendation I made last for Annie's "Call of the Wild", this is humor, and like hers, in character - but a little more extreme, perhaps, in the focus on specific aspects of the characters. Unlike Annie's though, which was set in the modern-day ATF universe, this one is set in the universe of the series, The Old West (my personal fave). It does rely on some of the staples of fanon - Vin's wonderful buckskin coat, Chris' temper and periodic over-indulgence, Ezra's foppishness - and they are delightfully used. As is the style - which is a part of the amusement as well. Definitely another good story for keeping the winter doldrums at bay. And I promise, I will get away from the humor soon and into some of the more intense and nitty-gritty stories I love so well!

HOW???? I have no idea how to - make it not a color. When I hit automatic, it comes out blue. . . . help?

Well... when I look at your html, I see that the font colour is set to "c0c0c0". If you can, you can change all of that to 000000. Otherwise, in rich text, you should be able to set the colour by selecting everthing then clicking on the A-with-colour pad next to the striked-s to set it all to black. Sorry this is so confusing/troublesome.

When I set it to black (which I did) it disappeared against the backdrop - that's why I'm confused (sorry, I should have said that). It shows fine on my white-background, but on the CrackVan back drop (when I post it) all I get are the icon and the link to the story.

I went in and manually changed the html to 000000 and - no words. Is there an automatic color set that occurs when it's posted that makes it white? But - when I set it for white, it doesn't show against a white background. What's the color code for everyone else uses?

LOL. What a mess. Try going into Rich Text mode and select all the text, set that for automatic.

I wonder why your original post was a strange colour.

I wiped everything clean and completely retyped. I'm guessing, if you're interested and for future reference, that the first time I did it - in the first post and then in this second one, I cut-and-pasted the html directions from the posting guide exactly as they were, but did it in rich test, deleting the html codes. This time, I started in html, manually entered the commands and the text clean, then went back to rich text to insert the links.

Odd that. But this one is done and I shall clean up my first post as well. Sorry to be such a bother! Thanks for the help!!!
