Why this must be read:
There's a lot of fic that explores the dark side of Peter's psyche, but most of them read like, "I hate you, whiny emo-boy, so here, turn evil!" more than anything else. This doesn't. Rather it chills and saddens by turns, so make sure you have something cuddly to cling to afterwards. Or during if you're like me.
Essentially, Peter isn't evil. He's a caretaker. Now he's taking care of Nathan and Adam, in a world that seems to be made up of stones and grey skies. Adam is happy. Nathan isn't sure.
