Abyss was an episode where Vince's relationship with Mandy Moore comes to a head and he fights with Eric--which is pretty unusual for them. They bicker, but they don't fight. Meanwhile, Turtle is struggling to get his venture with Saigon off the ground. These things combine in Miss Pamela's episode tag to force the issue that's obviously behind all the Drama: they are just really in love and need something to knock sense into them.

When they got out to the car, Vince choked out a laugh. "You took this piece of shit here? Really? Jesus, E. You can keep the fucking Maserati."

Eric whipped around and jabbed Vince in the chest. "Yes, I can. You know why I can? Because I fucking earned the Maserati. I was doing my job, Vince, and you have no right to give me shit for doing my job. I'm your best friend, but sometimes doing my job means being a shitty friend. And you know what? You don't pay me to be your friend."

Vince stared at him from under his eyelashes. "I know I don't pay you to be my friend." He smiled. "I get that part for free, you easy motherfucker."
