They're little pieces of Britney to hold onto when the girl herself isn't there, which is most of the time.

These little stories made my week when I first read them. It's so out of the blue--Britney Spears and Buffy Summers?--but oh, you can't help but like it when you read this. The Femmeslash side of Pop is somewhat underrepresented, though there've been crossovers between BtVS and Pop before.

I think the thing I love most about this AU, besides the slow, creeping prose and the interweaving of details from both Pop and Btvs, is one part in particular: Fame doesn't reach Sunnydale the same way it does everywhere else; part and parcel of living on a Hellmouth. Buffy can walk down the street with her girlfriend on her arm, sneaking sips of her gingerbread latte, and no one will say boo to either one of them. Britney doesn't even have to wear hats when she goes outside to get the mail. That is such a quintessential mix of both fandoms that it easily makes it my favorite of all the recs I'm showing you this month. Suffice it to say, it's very, very good.
