Why this must be read:
I love AUs. I love seeing how an author takes a familiar character and shapes him into someone else. I really love an author who creates a character that is still very true to themselves. And this author did. This Jack and Daniel are in Memphis in the 1950s but are still very Jack and Daniel. The descriptive language in this story creates very vivid images in my head. I can see everything so clearly. The long hot afternoons in Memphis are particularly gorgeous.
