Stargate SG1/The Sentinel (NC17)

Title: Metamorphosis by T W Lewis
Pairing: Blair/Teal'c, Blair/Jim
Author on LJ: [livejournal.com profile] gardendoor
Author Website: Gardendoor Fanfiction Archive
Why this must be read:

I read and enjoyed this story back when I knew nothing more of SG:1 than that Jack and Daniel made a cute couple in songvids. Nowadays, I actually have some SG:1 eps under my belt and it enhances the pleasure, even though this is most definitely also a Sentinel story (and has no Daniel Jackson). It's long, it's plotty, it looks at what happens when Blair goes from disgrace in Cascade to being a member of a certain SG team which currently has a gap in its membership. Themes of betrayal, acceptance and a few doses of culture shock make their appearance. 'Metamorphosis' is a good, solid read.

This is one of my favourite Crossovers and is always worth a re-read. Thanks for the reminder. =>}

Sentinel/SG1 crossovers always seem very natural -- the parallels between Daniel/Blair and Jim/Jack have so much potential. Add their personalities to the mix and many slash stories have a mix and match of lovers past and present. However, I've found that my favorites are actually the ones where there is no previous knowledge of each other prior to the story's beginning, such as in Martha's "Lovely".

I loved this story, not just because of the way all the characters interact and find their place in each other's lives but also because she writes a believable pairing between Blair and Teal'c. I'm generally a OTP gal, but I bought this one hook, line and sinker.

Great description and great rec, Mab.

Heee! Thank you so much for the rec!

BTW, I'm currently working on the massive, massive sequel, so hopefully there'll be plenty more of this AU to read in a few weeks...

Oh, yay! I am SO glad to hear that! (And would be happy to return the recent beta-favor, either on SenBetas or off-list...)

Thank you! Yes, that would be very much appreciated. I think I'm probably going to do for this what I did for the first one: post it to my LJ in parts, then give the whole thing to you to beta and put the finished story up on my website.
