Why this must be read: This will be my last but certainly not least rec for the month. I saved it for last because it's dedicated to me and I didn't want that to put people off reading it: I believe I am being completely impartial when I describe this fic as one of the greatest slash novels I've read in any fandom, not only Death Note.

This is an AU that splits off from canon when Light gets his memories back, and basically offers those of us who wanted some meaty, genuine, but REALISTIC emotional interaction between Light and L after the Yotsuba arc a veritable smorgasbord of exactly that. And a veritable smorgasbord of porn. And plot through porn. And fluff and angst and darling moments of laughter through porn. Aja taps into, amplifies, and deepens everything I love about this series, these characters, and everything in between, through one amazing, dark, convincing, mindblowing emotional rollercoaster of a fic. I can't recommend this highly enough.
