Hi! I'm notapoet and I'll be bringing you Rent fic this month! It's a fandom very near and dear to me, and I'll try to do it justice :)

Why this must be read: I’m reccing this first for several reasons. First of all, this was the first Rent fic I read, so it has a bit of sentimental value. Second, it’s a fabulous fic. It is inspired by the poetry of Paul Monette. More specifically, the poetry he wrote following the death of his lover, Roger. The story itself is Mark watching as Roger gets sicker, and Roger watching Mark. It captures their friendship so well, and is a heartbreaking depiction of Roger's downward spiral.
