Why this must be read:

In my head, "Zelda Zee" is synonymous with "blistering hot, sexy fics." So, it's hard to pick just one to rec. But not too hard, because this is one has an image that has been permanently painted in my imagination.

It's an AU fic, and it's tattoo-kink, kind of. Chris owns a tattoo parlor and JC is a starving artist who faints at the thought of needles. At one point in the fic, Chris paints a temporary tattoo on JC and it's one of the hottest things I've ever read. I want to see JC painted like this all the time.

JC ran his fingertips over the design, from his chest to his belly. His skin felt extra-sensitive, though he knew it must just be his imagination.

"It's beautiful," he said. He laughed a little, kind of amazed. "God, Chris. It's really hot."

"Yeah, it is," Chris agreed. "I knew it would be."

"I wish I could see it in color," JC said.

Chris nodded, saying nothing. His eyes were focused on the dark lines painted on JC's skin and JC had the impression that Chris was filling it in mentally, picking out the colors he would use in his head.

JC turned and looked at it from the side, at the bird's tail feathers winding over his hip and then from the back where they followed the curve of his cheek. "God." He turned back to face the front, meeting Chris' eyes in the mirror. "Touch it," he whispered. Chris didn't move. "Please? I want you to."

When I first read this, I was a little uncomfortable with the characterization of JC. He's more than a little damaged in this. But as the real JC keeps coming up with reasons why we're not getting more music from him, I've been doing a lot of re-evaluating. The characterization really works for me now--and Zelda Zee is incredibly insightful.
