Why this must be read:   Because it’s a “sentinels are known” AU with a twist. Of course, what can you expect from Mab?

 

In a reality where sentinels *and* guides were treated worse than lab rats, both groups decide to emigrate to the distant planet of Cascade. Centuries later, they are a prosperous but reclusive society. Naomi, a troublemaker in any Universe (snicker), becomes pregnant by a Guide and leaves Cascade. Anxious to make sure history doesn’t repeat itself, and positive that Blair will be happy to rejoin his people, he is whisked away and treated like a lost prince. But the “royal” isn’t particularly happy or grateful to be rescued.

 

Mab creates an imaginative and interesting universe. Don’t expect every little thing to be explained to you. However, one issue that comes through loud and clear is the battle of individual rights versus society’s good. It’s never an easy question, even in a society populated with gifted and ethical people.
