Why this must be read: Brilliant story set after Season 1 of Heroes, but before Season 1 of Torchwood. After the explosion Nathan Petrelli falls through the Rift and finds himself in 1947 in Cardiff where he meets the enigmatic Captain Harkness. They both have secerets and strange abilities and they are both out of time.

He opens his eyes, gasping in air. He's in a bed. A hospital bed. Maybe. The décor is clinical, white everywhere, and it smells of disinfectant the way hospitals do, but it’s empty: no doctors, no nurses, or other patients, just the bed, the bedside locker, and the man at the foot of the bed leaning against the wall

"Good morning," the man says, dazzling Nathan with his smile. He's dressed like he’s just walked off the set of a World War Two movie: German Great coat and air force insignia. British if Nathan isn’t mistaken. "About time you woke up, I was beginning to think you planned on sleeping for the rest of the millennium."
