Why this must be read: In Season 2 we were introduced to Matt Parkman's father, but we never learn anything about his mother. Alice gives us five versions, each completely plausible - from abused wife to glamorous time-hopper. Each is heartbreaking, each is perfectly written, each creates a convincing character in just a few paragraph. And each could have very well made Matt the person he is and might become.
