Why this must be read: I have to admit, I'm very tired of River-centric fics. But this one is great partly because it's from Mal's POV; the summary at the Glow says, "the crew faces the fact that River is a young woman, not a girl," and I think that says it all. Just ignore the Mal/Inara UST like I do (unless you actually like that sort of thing), and you'll enjoy it immensely. *g*
