Night Eagle by Ysone (PG)
Hi! I'm
captainlaura, and I'll be driving your Sentinel van this month. I've been reading stories in the fandom for years now, and I love a wide range of pairings and story types, so you can expect to see a lot of variety here.
Fandom: THE SENTINEL
Pairing: none
Length: 26,200 words (and the sequel is much longer)
Author on LJ: N/A
Author Website: Ysone's FanFic
Why this must be read:
Ysone was the very first Sentinel author I ever read (and I went through her entire library before moving on, so I definitely recommend all of her works), and this story was a great introduction to the many awesome AUs this fandom has created. This story manages to take many aspects of the show - the unexpected friendship, the mythology, the outsider's perspective - and apply it to America's "Old West". The first story, Night Eagle, focuses almost solely on Jim and Blair, but the sequel, Night Eagle: Homecoming, brings in the rest of the gang in style.

It's a testament to how well they stand the test of time -- she's still recced here and at other lists, as well as always making the LMFAwards year after year. Now if only we could lure her back to this fandom for more stories!
Thanks for the reminder. Off to read.
