Why this fic must be read:

Because it's one of the only times I've read second-person and it's worked.  Because it is absolutely gorgeous and painful and gut wrenching.  Because it is the only fic, to date, that can make me cry every time.


(Don't think you've gotten away from me. I'll build my house on the edge of the galaxy, tending daffodils and watching heaven through a pearl-handled spyglass hanging around my neck. I will know where you went to elude me, who took you away, and how many times you lean out your window and try to discern me among the stars.)

I have to be honest here-- the remix is infinitely better than the original. 37 feels a lot like badfic, in fact, but maybe it was the it's/its mix-up in the fic that bothered me. The Use Of Maps, though, is an eloquent execution of second-person.
